UTILITIES


On site Generator: We have a large diesel powered generator which can be turned on by our property manager in the event of a power outage. If operating on the generator, please minimize the use of AC. 

Toilets & Plumbing: We ask that you do not flush any foreign objects or personal hygiene products down the toilets!  Our onsite waste system is far more susceptible to having issues than a public sanitary sewer system.  Please report any running toilets immediately.

Showers and Faucets: Please help us conserve water by not allowing the water to run while washing up or brushing teeth, flush only when necessary, and do your best to take short showers. If you have children, please keep this in mind and explain to them why it's so important to conserve our most precious resource. Please report any running toilets or dripping faucets to the villa concierge immediately. We appreciate your help.

Air Conditioning Units: Although St john receives mush trade winds, there may be times that you want to use the air conditioners at night in the Bedroom to cool down a bit more. AC units are provided in all 4 bedrooms and, uncommonly, in the Great Room. We anticipate that AC in the Great Room will only be needed on very still days during the hottest months of the year when there is no breeze. The air conditioners have been sized to bring down the temperature very quickly and the rooms These AC units are some of the best, state of the art highest efficiency available today, but the cost of electricity in the Virgin Islands is extremely high.

Electricity: The cost of electricity in the US Virgin Islands is roughly 400% to 600% more, than the cost on the mainland. Please conserve electricity by making sure all windows and doors are shut while running the air-conditioner. In addition, while you are away from the villa during the day or in the evening, please shut raise the temperature. Again, please remind children of the importance of this.

Laundry and Dishwasher: Lime In De Coconut has a washer, dryer and dishwasher for your use. When doing laundry or using the dishwasher, please conserve water by only running a complete load at a time.  

Water: Our only source of water is rainfall which is caught via the roof and stored in cisterns beneath the house. We have installed water purification and filtration system with a sediment filter, a charcoal filter and a ultra violet light which are replaced on a regular schedule.

Internet: Excellent High Speed Wireless Internet throughout via VI Broadband. 

TV:  Cable TV

Phone:  We have vary good cell reception and have found this to be the most reliable over land lines.

Supplies:   Soaps, shampoos, napkins, foil, saran wrap, dish washing detergent, laundry detergent, toilet tissue.

Soft Goods: Linens, bedding, pillows, towels, wash cloths and beach towels are all provided for your convenience.
