About Lime in de Coconut Villa
Please read what our guests have said about Lime in de Coconut Villa.
We recently had the chance to stay at Lime In De Coconut villa for a family birthday celebration and our trip was nothing short of spectacular!! I am reluctant to highly recommend "Lime In De Coconut" due to the fact that it may always be booked up in the future and not available for us to come back ;) My group has stayed at some very nice villas and this is right there with the best of them. From the very first email to the owner, I knew they were going to be wonderful to work with. Super quick responses, extremely accommodating. The Villa can only be described as a gift from heaven tucked away hidden from site and extremely private. One thing that sets this villa apart is the fact that it's right on the water and totally private which is uncommon for St. John. I honestly cannot think of a single negative thing to mention. You cannot go wrong with this villa!

My wife and I have been blessed to have been able to visit some of the most beautiful locales, and stay at some of the finest accommodations in the world. Hands-down, Lime In De Coconut is the absolute best property we have ever enjoyed. Additionally, Marykae and Al are the most attentive, and detail oriented property owners we have encountered. 5 stars does not do them, or the property justice! Rarely does a property completely meet the expectations built by the pictures and description...and this far exceeded those! The property is simply breathtaking, both inside and out. Offering a helpful review when all you can say is "Wow!" is difficult, but I'll do my best...
Our stay was from 3/25/17 thru 4/1/17 - 4 adults, 3 kids, ages 7, 8, and 9. The home itself is as well equipped as our own. (Trust me when I say you will not be in need of anything that the home isn't already equipped with.) You'll obviously need to purchase your staple food items, but that is it. We used Meredith at "St. John Provisions" to stock the house with our food for the week. You order in advance, and all of your items are at the house upon arrival. There is a "pay it forward" system (leave what you buy and don't drink) for adult beverages, which came in handy when the girls decided they wanted drinks with ingredients we hadn't ordered. Happy wives...
Chocolate Hole is not only incredibly beautiful, but full of marine life. While snorkeling from the house, we saw turtles, cuttlefish, lobster, octopus, barracuda, and many, many different types of tropical fish. Bring your GoPro or underwater camera, you'll want it! As you'd expect there are sea urchins.
The house is equipped with 2 body boards. So, if you are snorkeling with younger children I suggest using those to get them past the shallow area and it allows them, and you, a resting spot if you want to explore the entire bay. There are also 6 kayaks and 3 SUPs, which make for a lot of fun. The kids will enjoy the hermit crabs, lizards, and iguanas that roam the property. You'll want water shoes when walking the paths, but plenty are provided; as well as 7-10 sets of mask, fins, and snorkels. On top of that, beach chairs, coolers, and beach umbrellas are provided for your daily beach excursions. Again, everything you need is there. Absolutely stunning, from start to finish; both house and owners! While we'll always feel blessed for the experience, I'm certain we'd be disappointed by staying anywhere else.

We had a beyond beautiful time at Lime in de Coconut. Perfectly situated and stocked this home became a place of rest and a time of reassurance that life is so much more than even our most above average days would have us to believe. Thank you Marykae and Al for sharing your piece of paradise with us!

We went to St John with another family - our first time on the island, how lucky we were to select Lime in De Coconut - it exceeded all expecatations. On arrival just walking out on the deck and seeing the view took my breath away! The pool was a huge hit with everyone and being able to enter the water right in front of the villa as simply amazing. We snorkeled right outside and saw plenty of sealife. We also took the kayaks and explored. Everything was provided from sea shoes, snorkels and beautiful linens and towels. The washer and dryer were top of the range and made a huge difference to our stay with 5 children! The ages of the children are from 8-13 and this villa was perfect for all of us to have our own space but to be able to come together in the fabulous main living area for meals, games and endless laughter. We rented jeeps and explored the stunning beaches, even a couple of days of rain didn't stop the fun and the sightseeing. Cruz Bay has amazing places to eat, our favorites being Morgans Mango and the Beach Bar. We had a wonderful days sailing with Nate on "No Worries Mon" and we had Chef Ted who cooked us a simply magnificent Thanksgiving meal. Thank you to Marykate and Al for being so communicative in the lead up to the vacation and for answering all my questions - they went above and beyond and we cannot wait to return to St John Lime in De Coconut!

We received an email from the new owner about a week before we arrived. Incredibly wonderful and warm couple (Marykae & Al). They want this vacation to be your best ever and do everything possible to make it just that!
We enjoyed being right on the water so much more than we expected. Yes, we ventured out to the North Shore beaches and into Cruz Bay for a little shopping. Beyond that, we spent most of our time at the villa - either in the pool or in Chocolate Hole!
The snorkeling right in front of the house is pretty awesome! The variety of fish is great. We saw a turtle, an octopus, a few small barracudas and even a spotted eagle ray - a highlight of our trip! It was so great having access to the kayaks SUPs, and snorkeling gear. We used them quite often!
The brand new towels and sheets were terrific! The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed playing cards and games every evening at the table. The indoor living and eating space was really terrific!
Thanks again to Marykae and Al - they happened to be on St. John when we were there so we invited them over for a drink so we could meet them! We wish you many years of happiness in your new home!

My husband and I along with our close friends just stayed at this magnificent villa and will absolutely be back again!!! We've been taking a vacation with friends for over a decade to this Island that we all love. This villa was immaculately clean and well cared for. Beautiful linens, towels, bedding, well stocked kitchen and even a bar that was fully stocked...we were truly impressed!! I have to say it's even nicer than the pictures... and the pictures are breathtaking! Chocolate Hole is an absolutely lovely area, only a five -minute drive to Cruz Bay town. We previously rented a villa on Ditleff Point, it seemed everyday was a windstorm. We also rented in Coral bay and weren't happy with the long drive to Cruz Bay where most of the shops, restaurants and bars are. Beware also: there are many villas that say they are oceanfront but your line of site to see the water includes seeing other villas and impediments. Additionally, some that say they are on the water don't mention that to get to the water you put your life at risk trying to climb down rocky cliffs...not so great when you have a few drinks and are already unsteady.
Lime in de Coconut is an absolutely beautiful villa that is directly on the water. The water views are spectacular and the sunsets are amazing!!!
The layout of the house is very open, and the large windows capture the beautiful outdoors. We loved sitting outside in the evening, laughing drinking and hearing the crashing waves. It's almost magical!! The owners provide a lot: beach chairs that you can grab and take, beach towels in a carry bag, coolers and even sunscreen.
The large, swimming pool has a beautiful, soothing cascading waterfall and overlooks the ocean. We could see and hear the crashing waves. The super large hot tub was a nice treat after swimming and there is a small refrigerator and bar. We loved indulging in snacks and drinks by the pool and hot tub without having to run back into the house.
A few steps away is the ocean. The natural rock platforms made the access way easy to get into the water. There are kayaks, stand up paddle boards, snorkeling equipment...everything needed to have a lot of fun for the day. We loved sitting under the palapas having drinks and what's really great is the privacy! Yes, it's very private - no other people but us!
The Bali hut was also great, and we did indulge in massages with a private masseuse.
Ahhh...what a vacation!!!! We can't wait to go back!!! Thank you Marykae and Al.
